The Artist grants’ of The National Council for Music for Heini Kärkkäinen

Heini Kärkkäinen was awarded the 5 years Artist grants’ by the Arts Council of Finland. The working period begins from january 2010.

There is the second Pianoconcerto of Saint-Saëns in the program. The orchestra is conducted by Nicholas Smith.

The world premiere of the Moon Concerto of Mikko Heiniö

The Moonconcerto (Piano Concerto No. 8), reflections and variations of themes by John Dowland and Hugo Ingelius for mezzosoprano, piano and orchestra by Mikko Heiniö will be heard in Helsinki on 23th september 2009. More info
The soloists are Monica Groop and Heini Kärkkäinen. Santtu Rouvali is conducting the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. The lyrics are by Edith Södergran and Carl Snoilsky.

Robert Cohen and Heini Kärkkäinen played at Kings Place, on March 29, 2009. Russian night: Shostakovich, Prokofjev, Rachmaninov. The concert was filmed by Highbrow TV, a new arts based internet company launching in late 2009. See Kings Place
